Magento 1.6 Released
Magento 1.6 was released today. Among the new features are the persistent shopping, which “retain(s) shopping cart content for customers across user sessions, browsers and devices”, handling of Minimum Advertised Prices, label printing support, and PrototypeJS 1.7. Among the many bug fixes in the new release are several fixes for issues with Internet Explore 9.

Magento 1.5.1 Released
Magento 1.5.1 was released today. This release returns the Alternative Image Storage module, which provides the ability to store media on a CDN or database. The features was previously added in Magento 1.5 and then removed in 1.5.0.1 after a security vulnerability was found. It also implements SOAP Faults for GiftMessage API, WS-I for API, and GiftMessage for Cart. It also includes many bug fixes.

Magento 1.5.0.1 Released
Magento 1.5.0.1 was released yesterday. This release removed the Alternative Image Storage module which was found to have “potential security vulnerability”. The module was a new feature in Magento 1.5 that provided the ability to store media on a CDN or database. Magento plans to “refactor it and will rerelease it in future releases”.
