Check What Version of Joomla You Are Running

The version number of Joomla installed on your website is listed in a several places:

  • In the administration interface of Joomla you can see what version you are running. In Joomla 1.5 the version is listed in the upper right hand corner of the pages. In Joomla 1.0, 1.6, 1.7, and 2.5 it is listed at the bottom of the pages. The version is also listed in the System Info page. In Joomla 3.x the version can be found from System>System Information:

  • In the root directory of the Joomla installation the CHANGELOG.php lists the current version number near the top for websites running Joomla 1.5: 
    - -> Removed

  • In the root directory of the Joomla installation the joomla.xml lists the version number for 1.6-3.x on the line that begins : 
    <version>3.4.1</version>
