Keeping your installation of Magento up to date allows you to remain protected against security vulnerabilities, fixes bugs, and major upgrades also add new features and functionality. The current versions of Magento are 1.9.3, 2.1.10 and 2.1.2 (check what version you are currently running). We can do the upgrade for you following the proper upgrade procedure. We will also upgrade any out of date extensions that are installed.
If your Magento installation has already been hacked upgrading, it will not clean it up. In that situation we can clean up the hack and then upgrade it.
We have extensive experience dealing with the many issues that can occur during the upgrade process, especially the issues which occur due to the changes made from Magento 1.3.x to 1.4.x. To insure the upgrade goes right, we first perform a test of the upgrade in a directory on your website, which allows you to test out the upgrade before we apply the upgrade to the production website. You can find out more about having a successful upgrade with our guide on preparing for an upgrade.
We can usually upgrade your Magento installation in a week.
Migration to Magento 2.1
Websites can not be upgraded from Magento 1.x to Magento 2.1. Instead a migration of the data from the existing Magento 1.x installation to a new Magento 2.1 installation is done. Themes and extensions designed for Magento 1.x can not be used in Magento 2.1, so going to version 2.1 is major change and may not be possible at this point if extensions you use are not available for the new version yet. Magento 1.x will continue to be supported until 2018, so there is no need to rush to 2.1. If you are looking for that migration you can find the details of our service here.
